Hong Kong is an important world-renowned sourcing centre for giftware. A wide spectrum of gift items can be sourced here, ranging from basic to sophisticated, high-valued merchandise. Hong Kong exporters are sensitive to changing market needs, and are known for quality, quick response, efficiency and reliability. Hong Kong's giftware industry is also supported by a strong network of competent ancillary industries. Sectors such as toys and figurine candles are well served by the mould-making industry. Timepiece manufacturing, for its part, is supported by the metal products industry in casings, bands and precision components. Under such circumstances, the HKTDC Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair provides an ideal platform for buyers to source astonishing array of gift items, from the most basic to the most sophisticated. This year's fair took up nearly 78,500 square metres, featuring more than 4,200 booths. First-time exhibitors come from Brunei, Finland, Greece, Nepal, Poland and Sri Lanka. Exhibitors include BSC ITALIA SPA, MASCAGNI S.p.A., Masterwin Group Limited, Nextime (Hong Kong) Limited, NICI GmbH, Plastoria SA, Pro Eton (H.K.) Co., Ltd., PSL Ltd., Topchoice Industries Limited, Winko International Products Ltd. and many more. The fair featured a wide range of products, including fashion jewellery and accessories, watches and clocks, consumer electronics, silverware, ceramic gifts, paper and packaging, travel goods, gifts for women and children, corporate and advertising gifts and Christmas decorations. Fair Highlights Child's Play With parents around the world willing to spend more and more on their children, this is a booming sector. Kids' World exhibited everything from the traditional to the hi-tech, from the entertaining to the educational. Feminine Charms The demand for gifts for women is on the rise in markets around the world - and there were plenty of scope for buyers in Ladies' Gifts & Premium Section, packed with interesting items from the decorative to the functional. Dazzling Silver Silverware Zone showcased silver fragrance ware, jewellery and jewellery boxes, as well as desk sets and accessories. Premium Showcase The Hall of Fine Designs was a celebration of all that is best in the world of gifts. There were 51 design-led companies showcasing their elegant collections in an environment that reflects the premium nature of the products. Buying Bonaza Many buying delegations with strong purchasing power, such as Bals Corporation, Barnes & Noble Inc., Birkenstock Australia, El Corte Ingles, Farmers Trading (NZ), Galeries Lafayette, Hallmark., Idée + Spiel, L'Oreal Asia, Noguera y Vintro, Pepsico, Sanrio, Tokyu Hands, Toys "R" Us Inc., Warner Village Theme Parks, Walt Disney and more were invited to visit the fair. Looking Ahead The 24th HKTDC Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair will be held on 27 - 30 April 2009 (Mon - Thu) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).
